PROFESSIONAL:  T.J. “Semmes” Hughs holds a BA in History from Tulane University and has been in the insurance and financial services industry for over 25 years.  He began his career as an agent with Home Life Insurance Company, where he was a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Semmes does most of his work concentrating in the estate planning and business strategies market. He relies upon his interpersonal relationship skills to help people build a strategy to reach their goals.

PERSONAL: T. J. “Semmes” Hughs was born in Jackson, MS, but grew up in New Orleans where he graduated from Jesuit High School. Semmes currently lives in Madisonville, LA with his wife Julie and their children Elizabeth, Tommy, and Catherine.  In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, swimming, bicycling and meeting people.

COMMUNITY: Semmes is a Life Member and has been a past Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of New Orleans and earned the George F. Hixson Fellow Award for Community Service. He serves on the board of the New Orleans chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Additionally, he’s active in various carnival organizations.
